NAT GUNAMARD is an award-winning artist and illustrator. She studied Fine Art at the Ruskin School of Drawing and Fine Art, Oxford and completed her Postgraduate diploma at Chelsea College of Art and Design. She has been short-listed for various prizes; including the Jerwood Drawing Prize, National Art Open and ING Discerning Eye. Her work has been included in ARTfutures and the Red Mansion Art Prize exhibition, following a residency in Beijing. Her work has been at Alan Cristea Gallery alongside three other emerging artists. She was one of 30 artists to be commissioned by the Royal Mail to design a special edition stamp for the 2012 London Olympic Games. Her illustrations have been featured in various publications including The House of Windows by Alexia Casale, World of Interiors, The Times Educational Supplement and Condé Nast Traveller.

She has always loved drawing from life, for her it is the rawest form of creating art and connects to a rich tradition of artists working in the life drawing studio. The body has the ability to display huge ranges of emotion, the angle of a hip or position of a hand tells a story, and she is interested in the journey of discovering the quality of line to best convey the human condition. She loves drawing the human form with ink as it can be an unpredictable and organic medium, forcing you to let go and allow the medium to work for itself, as liberating as it is exposing.
